a smile
After several failed attempts, I've finally gotten a picture of Clara smiling and a few other good ones too. She looks a lot like her big sister. Both Jane and Clara look a lot like Matt's side of the family. The jury's still out about her hair. At this point, it looks like a reddish brown color, but in the sun it sure looks like it might turn red.
We made it folks. Matt was gone from Friday morning until dinner time tonight and we made it. I even slept last night, which is amazing. Any of you ladies can attest to the fact that it's really hard to settle in to sleep when your husband is out of town. Aside from everyday discipline problems, I think we handled it well. It's a relief, because Matt will have to be gone four more weekends over the next month or so. He's taking another Master's class through RTS in Atlanta with Dr. Davis. All in all it is a great deal. He gets some guy time away from our crazy family life, he finishes the class sooner than one he would do on his own, he gets to learn some cool stuff, and he gets the benefit of a teacher in the flesh with whom he already has a relationship. I'm all for it, but I just hope I can keep the rest of us together over the next few weekends. Yet again, I'm thankful that God is doing this parenting thing with me.
