waah!
After all of the cute Clara pics I've posted, I figured it was time to post a not so cute one. By the way, the reason she's crying is because she's totally worn out from Sunday. I forgot how difficult Sundays can be when you have a little baby to worry about. Clara basically screams the entire time we're at church with a few short windows of contentment. Sundays used to be my favorite day of the week, but they're quickly becoming very stressful. I have had to leave youth group up to Matt entirely and I've had to spend most of the morning at church in the nursery. Both things have helped, but I'm at a loss as to how to make my Sunday really feel like a sabbath rest. Does anyone have suggestions? I'm open to any ideas you might have.

I've often wondered if parents of small kids really do get a Sabbath. Maybe He switches it to a 7 year cycle for a bit.

I'm not sure the typical church model we have today allows parents a Sabbath rest, even with nurseries. We go to church Saturday night and then our Sundays can be restful. For some reason having church on saturday is less stressful. Perhaps it's because we don't feel the cultural pressure that we are 'going to church' and everything that can entail. An even more general question is, how to make going out with 3 or more kids less stressful?

We now go to church on Thursday night and feel the same way about resting on Sunday. It's been great to have another weekend day to do fun family things and give us time to get ready for school days (for Joel). Eden is not to fond of going out in the evenings though. We have yet to find an awesome church. I love the honest picture, giggle.
