busy, tired, busy

This is just a quick update for those of you who wonder where we've been.

-We are all HEALTHY!!

-No more mastitis/clog: thanks to lots of water and a great rice bag thingy for heat.

- I'm looking forward to the day when I don't have to get up at night with Clara.

- We're still in the potty training trenches. Jane will consistently do the do in the potty, but unless I'm really paying attention to the time, she's still peeing in her pants about half the time. Needless to say the laundry is piling up and I'm constantly on the lookout for clean underpants.

- Matt has taken an internship at our church for the summer, which means he'll be putting in about 20 hours a week including our regular youth work. It's an exciting opportunity for him.

- My green (I mean brown) thumb is itching to start my garden again. I ordered some great heirloom seeds from the Victory Seed Company, instead of buying seedlings this year. I'm hoping to save some money and grow some unique varieties at the same time.

- I've started to resume going to bible study on Wednesday nights again, which has given Matt some alone time with all three of our kids. It was a pretty daunting task at first, but he's doing a really good job and I'm enjoying the break.

-I'm currently trying to "fly" with the FlyLady. For those of you who are curious you can google it. I don't remember the link, but it's worth the work to find it. Thank you FlyLady for the inspiration to clean my sink and organize my time.

"Alone time with the kids...." That's a pretty neutral, even rosy way to put it. How about "Matt gets to spend three hours a week being utterly overwelmed and dumbfounded as to how Karen pulls this off on a daily basis."?

Or, "Matt gets to experience in only three hours what most husbands would feel if their wives went on a short term mission trip to Nepal for two months."

I love our kids, and cherish our time together. But three on one pre-bedtime is about as easy as witnessing to a Jehovah's Witness, or checking out their church landscape from inside the kingdom hall....

you're a brave man, Mateo. good for you!

and I hope your flylady fun goes well, but I've taken to calling her the works-righteousness lady. it's a little over-the-top for me at least :-)
