A whole roll in the bowl

DSC03111.JPG DSC03113.JPG

...so yesterday, Matt installed a toilet paper roll holder in our bathroom. You'd think that after four years of living in our fixer-upper, that we had taken care of that detail, but no. The funny thing is that the kids think it's the coolest gadget ever. They played with it all day (not so funny), and clogged the toilet twice. In one day they used up an entire roll of the big fat Scott tissue. The mom in me is mad, but the kid in me thinks it's hilarious.

If you don't have issues with the paper coming from the bottom then when its on the roll that way and they spin it, none will roll off. I know some people are particular with how their toilet paper comes off the roll. Lizzie spins the roll while she's on the potty which can be fun when its coming over the top. Isn't it funny the things that will entertain them for the day!

Sorry to break the bad news to you, but Jenn is right. You have the roll on backwards. It's *supposed* to come off the back and not the front. Geesh! [rolls eyes] ;-)

OK people, lets get something straight. Perhaps its OK to put the toliet paper on backwards when we are potty training, and little kids, but the day comes when the training wheels have to come off and we ride the bike like big kids. I will concede that perhaps the paper should go on backwards for our kids, but I will NEVER, under normal circumstances, concede that TP rolling off the back off the roll is the correct way.

Also, big shout out to Scott Gast for putting the horizonatal stud there four years ago which I finally was able to tap for this amazing gadget.

Glad to be of service, Matthew....I don't know how in the world you remember details like that.

By the way, we still love the bathroom you built for us....the stone tile and rock soap dish are great.

We will go to our graves, long after the kids are gone, pulling under instead of over. Backwards TP'ers unite! Training wheels?...why must people always resort to ad hominim attacks? j/k

Wow. You actually got the roll to the holder, not just on the counter next to it???

Seriously, I have to break the news. If you have enough kids, it does not matter which way you hang it. We took the tp holder out of the kids bathroom. Actually, we took the tp out of the kids bathroom. (After taking the holder out, we kept discovering entire rolls just dropped into the toilet. . .*accidentally*, of course). We put a roll in there on a high shelf when we have guests, but otherwise we ration it out to them on an as needed basis. Disciplining them for tp-ing the entire bathroom eventually kept that fun activity at bay, but we have found no other way to keep them from clogging the toilet. Using flushable wipes helps some, but we still ration them out or they will use multiple and still manage to clog the toilet. Several times a day.
