a walk with the family

Jane at Reflection Riding

I went for my first real walk in months today. My pregnancy was so uncomfortable this time that I wasn't really able to enjoy any kind of exercise. It's so nice not to be pregnant anymore. Matt and I took the kids to Reflection Riding and it did wonders for our bad attitudes. The kids spent some time throwing acorns and rocks into the pond and crumpling leaves in their hands--so much better than being cooped up at home on a gray day.

I'm happy to say that that's the only adventure we'll be having today. There will be no New Year's Eve parties or watching the ball drop. We're just too doggone tired. Don't misunderstand me: I love our kids and I love the life I've chosen. I'm not complaining. Sleep is sweet when you don't get much of it.

Oh, and by the way, that last entry was created by Matt, not me. I would like to think I'm that funny, but I'm not. Hopefully, with my techy husband's help, I'll figure out this blogging thing. In the meantime...

Family bent out of shape

So here we are in day 18 of having three kids. What a huge adjustment! As you can see in the attached photo, Matt and the kids just aren't their usual selves. I think Matt has rally snapped and has begun to think that he is the dead civil war general AJ Alexander.

You can see the evidence for yourselves with the two pictures below.
